First, to develop my two alternative AI-generated resumes, I used targeted prompts to reframe existing work experience for different industries. For the Marketing resume, I asked the AI to emphasize skills such as customer engagement, branding,and communication. I also asked the AI to make particular emphasis on responsibilities at my jobs that I’ve worked that relate to customer satisfaction and brand representation. For the Sports Management resume, I framed prompts to include such themes as athletic leadership, team operations, event coordination, and my background as a multi-sport varsity athlete. I directed the AI to relate my job experiences to logistics, teamwork, and discipline-skills valuable for sports operations.
Going between the two versions, I was able to see how changing a prompt changed the tone, keywords, and relevance of each bullet point. It reframed most of the same jobs toward the expectations set in each industry. This taught me the importance of prompt specificity when tailoring content to different audiences. The right choice of keywords and direction thus helped me in creating two unique professional resumes based on the same experiences, each aimed at a different career path.
